Therapist

Pronouns: He/Him

If you are a transitional age young person struggling with the experiences of moving into the adult world, having difficulty with past/present substance use addictions, depression, trauma, anxiety, relational problems, obsessive thoughts, anger management problems, or other problems you just cannot put your finger on and want to make a change I might be able to help.

My approach is collaborative, supportive, goal oriented, and judgement free. My work is generally geared towards understanding the world someone walks through from day to day and understand how their perceptions create the lenses through which they look at the world. I tend towards evidenced based practices.

I am a licensed professional counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  I am a Certified Trauma Treatment Therapist as well. I have experience with case management and career counseling. I have has been a private practice therapist for the past 5 years. Prior to private practice I was the clinical director at an inpatient program for co-occurring disorders and a clinical supervisor/Therapist for co-occurring

disorders for a number of years prior to that. I have experience with across a broad spectrum of settings and populations over the last 20 years.

If you're experiencing struggles with trauma, anxiety, depression, symptoms related to Autism Spectrum Disorder, I can help. My belief is that the best clinical tool is the relationship between counselor and client, so I will focus on getting to know you, how you want to live your life and what goals are most important to you. As a gay male of color, I am part of two underserved communities, and I accept and respect the responsibility my position holds. I proudly work with my peers, both LGBT+ and individuals of color.

My method of treatment is collaborative, supportive, value-focused, and directed toward the goals we agree on. My work is geared through a solution-focus lens, focusing on both present and future. This is a goal-oriented approach to achieving the client’s desired outcome.

My experience includes clinical outpatient services for children as well as adults. I have also served individuals diagnosed with both intellectual disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorder in both residential and community settings. I earned my certification as a clinician specialist in Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as national certification in counseling.
